Security

Security is taken very seriously because of the content being distributed and the value. These following measures are used to ensure that sensitive documents go to whom they belong – always.

Security Features

  • Users trying to download a document must have logged on to our online repository using a user name and password. All persons logging on to our system are tracked and recorded for security purposes.
  • Benedia uses “PCI”.   The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a worldwide information security standard defined by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. The standard was created to help payment card industry organizations that process card payments prevent credit card fraud through increased controls around data and its exposure to compromise. The standard applies to all organizations that hold, process, or exchange cardholder information from any card branded with the logo of one of the card brands.
  • Documents requested for download are first checked to ensure that the person logged on has permission to retrieve the document. Permission is granted by Benedia Court Reporting Service.
  • Benedia uses SSL or Secure Sockets Layer encryption, which is an advanced encryption technology that makes it impossible for unauthorized parties to read information that we communicate to you or you to us through our web site.
  • Every byte of data that travels from our web site to your computer is encrypted and cannot be viewed by any other person who happens to intercept the information. We have been audited and verified by Thawte, a third party security company who grants permission to send encrypted Internet data.
  • Each and every document that is downloaded from our Internet site gets recorded into our web site log file. Each document downloaded is recorded with who, when, from where, and how the document was downloaded. This allows Benedia to track exactly what is happening on our web site.
  • Benedia’s Internet server is located on an isolated network that only accepts Internet traffic. All attempts to get at documents on our server must be done through our web site.
  • All documents are kept on RAID 5 configured hard drives. In the chance that our hard drive fails there is an instantaneous backup that is ready for zero down time
